The Before & After School Programs room
Before school opens at 7:00am in a room that feels calm rather than busy. Children listen to soft music and choose from Legos, puzzles, blocks and coloring. The pace is unhurried on purpose, so the morning starts quiet instead of rushed.
After school begins at 3:00pm. Children spend some time on the playground, then sit down to a healthy snack. After that they choose from activities like the morning ones, and a teacher often sits with them through a craft project or a game. Older children may return to work they started in the classroom if they want to.
We serve a broad variety of families, so these programs are arranged to be flexible. Additional hours can be requested at $11 per hour, though advance notice is required to reserve the space. Some campuses offer after school enrichment programs. Call your campus of choice to ask what is available there.

What this looks like in practice
The benefit shows up later, at home. A child who has had a calm start and a predictable afternoon has less to hold together on the drive back. Belongings end up in the same cubby, the same snack happens at the same table. That sameness is what lets a child relax into the rest of the evening.
